>>Blueprint of the COE Program
The COE program encompasses several sub-programs that are geared toward preparation for the emergent highly-networked advanced media society. The Program for Strategic Research and Development is designed to promote the problem-solving oriented research described below and integrate these branches in a comprehensive manner under the leadership of the COE leader. The program will mainly be concerned with fundamental technologies for communication networks and multimedia processing, taking advantage of NAIST's abundant human resources, excellent facilities and record of academic achievements in these areas. Its overall aim is to create a world-class research base for the Ubiquitous Networked Media Computing which carries out most advanced research and produces creative researchers. To this end, we will also implement the Program for the Development of an International Stronghold, Program for Industrial-Governmental-Academic Cooperation and Program for Training Young Researchers, for which the COE leader allocates the budget.
