サイバネティクス・リアリティ工学研究室の清川 清教授に、IEEE VGTC CommunityよりTechnical Achievement AwardとVR Service Awardが授与されました。
Prof. Kiyoshi Kiyokawa of Cybernetics and Reality Engineering lab received the Technical Achieement Award and VR Service Award from IEEE VGTC Community. (2022/3/14)

　IEEE（米国電気電子学会）VGTC（Visualization and Graphics Technical Community：可視化とグラフィクス技術コミュニティ）では、関連する分野の顕著な業績に対して様々な賞を授与しています。この度、清川教授のバーチャルリアリティ（VR）および拡張現実（AR）に関する数々の先駆的な研究業績により IEEE VGTC VR Technical Achievement Award が授与されました。同賞を受賞した日本人は本学の加藤博一教授（2009年）以来2人目となります。また、同分野の学術コミュニティの運営に対する長年の貢献により、今年創設されたIEEE VGTC VR Service Award が授与されました。これらの業績により、清川教授は加藤教授らとともに、IEEE VGTC VR Academy の創設メンバーに選出されました。
　The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) VGTC (Visualization and Graphics Technical Community) has awarded various awards for outstanding achievements in related fields. Professor Kiyokawa has been awarded his IEEE VGTC VR Technical Achievement Award for his numerous pioneering research achievements in virtual reality(VR) and augmented reality(AR). This is the second Japanese person to receive this award since Professor Hirokazu Kato (2009) of our institute. In addition, Professor Kiyokawa has been awarded his IEEE VGTC VR Service Award, which was established this year, for many years of his contribution to the management of the academic community in the field. Due to these achievements, Professor Kiyokawa, along with Professor Kato and others, was elected as an inaugural member of the IEEE VGTC VR Academy.

    　大変名誉ある賞を複数同時にいただき、非常に驚いていますし光栄に存じます。大勢の皆様、特に学生時代の指導教員である横矢直和先生と竹村治雄先生、これまで私と共に活動してくださったすべての皆様に感謝申し上げます。今後とも分野の発展に尽力したいと思います。
      I am very surprised and honored to receive multiple very honored awards at the same time. I would like to thank all of you, especially Professor Naokazu Yokoya and Professor Haruo Takemura, who were my academic advisors, and everyone who has worked with me. I would like to continue to contribute to the development of the field.
