The Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) Societyは、医用画像処理とコンピュータ外科の世界屈指の学会で、年に一度、MICCAIに関する国際会議を開催しています。この分野のトップ研究者が一堂に会し、医用画像認識技術の発展、技術革新を求めて意見を交換します。 MICCAIでは、当該分野での顕著な学術成果と学会への貢献が認められた研究者、毎年3名にフェローの称号を授与しています。昨年まで51名が選出され、日本の研究機関からはこれまで2名で、今回、佐藤教授が3人目になります。佐藤教授の「計算解剖学とコンピュータ支援手術に関する先駆的研究とMICCAI学会への貢献」が評価され、国際会議MICCAI2023にて、フェローの称号が授与されました。 ※MICCAIは、この分野のトップジャーナルであるMedical Image Analysis誌（IF 10.9）の提携学会です。 |

The Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention Society (the MICCAI Society) is dedicated to the promotion, preservation and facilitation of research, education and practice in the field of medical image computing and computer assisted medical interventions including biomedical imaging and medical robotics. The election of Fellows of the Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention Society is made annually to a small number of senior members of the MICCAI community in recognition of substantial scientific contributions to the MICCAI research field and service to the MICCAI community. Prof. Sato was bestowed a title of MICCAI Fellow in recognition of his pioneering work on Computational Anatomy and Computer-Assisted Interventions and contributions to the MICCAI society.
