概要: |
Conceived by L.O. Chua in early 1970’s, memristors became noticed as
Hewlett Packard in 2008 claimed they had fabricated such a device that
exhibit the characteristics described by Chua. The device attracted a great
deal of attention particularly after two National Science Foundation
(NSF)-sponsored symposia on memristors were held at the University of
California Berkeley. The pinched hysteresis property that characterizes
memristors makes it applicable to various fields: neuroscience synapses
capable of learning, neural networks, quantum computation, and, most
importantly in RRAMs and digital logic circuits. It is the fabrication of
functional device that is delaying practical applications. Meanwhile,
modeling the device and exploring its use in digital and analog design will
allow the community to be ready to benefit from them as they emerge as
reliable devices.
