奈良先端大、立命館大学、パナソニック株式会社の合同チームが、WRSフューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ トライアル競技会に出場します。
Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic will compete in the WRS Future Convenience Store Challenge Trial Competition at Tokyo Big Sight, Dec. 19-21.

フューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ トライアル競技会(FCSC2019)は、新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構(NEDO)と経済産業省が主催するWorld Robot Summit 2020の前哨戦として、12月19日～21日に東京ビッグサイトで開催されます。本学からは情報科学領域の学生及びスタッフが、立命館大学、パナソニック株式会社のメンバーと共に出場します。 NRP
　本競技会には、世界の名だたる大学や企業から10チームが参加し、最先端のロボット技術を駆使して、商品の陳列・廃棄、接客、トイレ清掃の3つのタスクで、パフォーマンスを競います。 競技では、物体認識、把持計画、コンプライアンス操作、モーションプランニング、タスクプランニング、ナビゲーション、ヒューマンロボットインタラクション、エラー検出/修正などのさまざまな技術を備えたロボットを操作します。
　チームのパフォーマンスは、厳しい制限時間内で各ロボットがうまく操作した製品の数、清掃後の状態、そして、人間とロボットのやりとりがどれだけ自然でかつ革新的であるかに基づいて採点されます。

　昨年度開催されたWorld Robot Challenge 2018カスタマーインタラクションタスクのディフェンディングチャンピオンとしてトップの座を狙いつつ臨む本競技会での本学チームの健闘を祈り、彼らの最新の技術と研究成果と競技魂が実を結ぶことを期待します。
Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic has been selected to participate in the international robotics contest “Future Convenience Store Challenge Trial Competition (FCSC2019)", which precedes a much larger event organized by the Japanese Government (NEDO and METI): the World Robot Summit 2020.

In this contest, 10 teams from universities around the world and numerous global companies will be judged on the performance of their cutting-edge robot hardware and software in the tasks of restock and disposal, customer interaction, and even toilet cleaning. The contest consists of robots outfitted with various technologies such as object recognition, grasp planning, compliant manipulation, motion planning, task planning, navigation, human-robot interaction and error detection/correction.
The teams' performance will be scored based on the number of products each robot successfully manipulates, the final state of the cleaning, and how friendly and innovative the human-robot interaction is, all within a tight time frame.

With members from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Ritsumeikan University and the Robotics HUB of Panasonic Corporation, we have a solid team to contend for the first place, and as defending champions on the Customer Interaction task (World Robot Challenge 2018) we are very excited to show our latest technologies at the FCSC2019!
