Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic(奈良先端大、立命館大学、パナソニック株式会社の合同チーム)が競技会World Robot Challenge 2018のフューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ部門に出場します。
Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic will compete in the Future Convenience Store Challenge at the World Robot Challenge 2018 (Tokyo Big Sight, Oct. 17-21.)

  • 　競技会World Robot Challenge 2018は、経済産業省が主催するWorld Robot Summitのプログラムの一つで、10月17日～21日に東京ビッグサイトで開催されます。本学からは情報科学領域の学生及びスタッフが、立命館大学、パナソニック株式会社のメンバーと共に出場します。
    　フューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ部門には、世界の名だたる大学や企業から24のチームが参加し、最先端のロボット技術を駆使して、商品の補充・廃棄、接客、トイレ清掃の3つのタスクで、パフォーマンスを競います。 競技では、物体認識、把持計画、コンプライアンス操作、モーションプランニング、タスクプランニング、ナビゲーション、ヒューマンロボットインタラクション、エラー検出/修正などのさまざまな技術を備えたロボットを操作します。
    　チームのパフォーマンスは、制限時間内で各ロボットがうまく操作した製品の数、清掃後の状態、そして、人間とロボットのやりとりがどれだけ自然でかつ革新的であるかに基づいて採点されます。
    　本学のチームの健闘を祈り、彼らの技術と研究成果と競技魂が実を結ぶことを期待します。

    The Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic, a team with members from NAIST, Ritsumeikan University and Panasonic Corporation, has been selected to participate in the international robotics contest "Future Convenience Store Challenge" at the World Robot Challenge 2018, which is an event part of the World Robot Summit organized by the Japanese government.
    In this challenge, 24 teams from universities around the world and numerous global companies will be judged on the performance of their cutting-edge robot hardware and software in the tasks of restock and disposal, customer interaction, and even toilet cleaning.
    The contest consists of robots outfitted with various technologies such as object recognition, grasp planning, compliant manipulation, motion planning, task planning, navigation, human-robot interaction and error detection/correction.
    The teams' performance will be scored based on the number of products each robot successfully manipulates, the final state of the cleaning, and how friendly and innovative the human-robot interaction is, all within a tight time frame.
    We wish the team the best luck and we hope they have an excellent perform using their skills, research results and competitive spirit!
