奈良先端大、立命館大学、パナソニック株式会社の合同チームが、ワールド・ロボット・サミット2020のフューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ競技において、総合優勝を獲得しました。 (2021/9/12)

　「ワールド・ロボット・サミット(WRS)」は、経済産業省と新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構（NEDO）の共催によるもので、9月9日から12日にAichi Sky Expoで開催されました。競技会では「ものづくり」「サービス」「インフラ・災害対応」「ジュニア」の４部門が実施されました。 本学と立命館大学、パナソニックによる「NAIST-RITS-Panasonic」チームは、「フューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ競技」に出場し、総合優勝を獲得しました。さらに、「陳列・廃棄タスク」と「清掃タスク」でも１位を獲得しました。
　　
　サービス部門の「フューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ」競技はコンビニエンスストアで日常行われている「陳列・廃棄」「接客」「清掃」業務をAI搭載ロボットに行わせ、その正確性などを競うものです。この競技の「陳列・廃棄」と「清掃」分野において「NAIST-RITS-Panasonic」チームがそれぞれ１位を獲得し、「フューチャーコンビニエンスストアチャレンジ競技」総合優勝を果たしました。

    　On behalf of Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic, I am very happy to announce that we have obtained the 1st Place in the Restock & Disposal Task, the 1st Place in the Restroom Cleaning Task, as well as the Overall Winner Prize in the Future Convenience Store Challenge (FCSC) at the 2020 World Robot Summit (WRS). The FSCS is a competition about making robots do tasks such as shelf-stocking and replenishment of multiple types of food products, interacting with customers and staff, and cleaning restrooms. We are proud to have had the honor to represent two Japanese universities and a world-class company in this international robotics competition, as one of 21 contending teams. We were distinguished with the METI Minister’s Award, as well as with two NEDO Chairman’s Awards for Excellence in WRS. We would like to thank the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) for organizing such a successful event that brought us countless valuable experiences. Moreover, we would like to thank Ritsumeikan University (RITS), as well as CNS and Robotics Hub of the Panasonic Corporation for joining us in this amazing adventure, without their excellent contributions and active cooperation we could not have achieved this result. Finally, we would like to sincerely express our deepest gratitude to Professor Ogasawara (NAIST) and Visiting Professor Takamatsu (NAIST) for their constant guidance and support during the 5-year history of the team, as well as to Professor Wada (NAIST) and Professor Taniguchi (RITS) for their support in this endeavor.
