title: Evaluation of the Impact of the Image Plane Model on Automatic Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Display Calibration
abstract: AR applications using Optical See-through Head Mounted Displays (OST-HMD) require calibration to ensure consistency between computer graphics (CG) and real-world scene.
This calibration is usually done manually by the user or automatically through eye tracking.
Although automatic calibration does not require user interaction and should be preferred, it results in a larger projection error due to eye tracking errors and incorrect models of the virtual image plane.
In this research, we investigate how different models of the virtual plane contribute to the error of automatic OST-HMD calibration.
We aim to investigate if there is a single ideal virtual-image plane model, or if a different model should be used for different OST-HMDs.
