固有空間内での軌跡の類似性に基づく動画像検索に関する研究

本発表では， 動画像データベースの中から 入力の画像系列に類似した系列を検索する 内容に基づく動画像検索の実現を目指して， 画像系列間の類似性を 固有空間内の軌跡の類似性によって評価する手法を提案する． 本手法は画像系列毎に固有空間と 固有空間内の軌跡をあらかじめ学習しておき， 入力の画像系列と学習した固有空間との距離， ならびに固有空間内の軌跡の類似度を評価することで 類似する画像系列を検索する手法である． また， 一つの画像系列が一つのジェスチャを表現する実動画像を対象とした 実験を行ない， 画像系列の検索が可能であることを示す． さらに， 分節化されていない入力画像系列に対する応用手法について述べ， 本手法のジェスチャ認識への応用の可能性を述べる．

In this thesis, a method for retrieving an image sequence in a database based on its contents is proposed. The method evaluates the similarity between image sequences based on the similarity of trajectories in eigenspaces. Two criteria to evaluate the similarity are employed. One concerns the distance between an input image sequence and the eigenspaces, each of which is previously organized from an image sequence. The other concerns the similarity of trajectories in the eigenspaces. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed retrieval method with real image sequences which represent hand gestures.
