Mobile communication such as Personal Digital Cellular(PDC) and PHS have come into wide use recently. In a cellular technology constructed service area, radio propagation characteristics are important factor in deciding places for setting up a BS(Base Station) and the number of BS should be installed.
Usual station site selection methods are target for using in outdoor. As indoor radio propagation characteristics is differ from which for outdoor, the usual methods cannot be applied to indoor site selection.
A lot of unknown point regardinng indoor propagation characteristics are still not clear today. Also, indoor station site selection method has not yet been established. As a result indoor station site selection method is required to optimize BS site selection.
We have conducted experiments on measuring the indoor radio propagation characteristics in our campus(NAIST). Utilizing the measurement results, we proposed station site selection methods in this paper. For future research, it is indispensable to improve this method in order to get a optimum BS position.
