Presentation Skills II


講義内容

The purpose of this course is to teach you how to prepare, rehearse, and deliver a presentation to an international audience of colleagues in your field. Each student will be required to deliver a 10 to 15 minute presentation on a topic from their research field, and to answer questions from their colleagues in a ten minute question and answer period following the presentation. There will be amble time to rehearse the presentations, and the final presentation will be videotaped.

    Topics to be covered in the class include:
    1. Extemporaneous versus Scripted Presentation
    2. Preparing the Presentation
      a. Analyzing your Audience and Purpose
      b. Remembering the limitation for your presentation
      c. Preparing the notes
      d. Preparing the graphic aids
    3. Rehearsing the Presentation
      a. Is the presentation coherent?
      b. Does the information flow smoothly?
    4. Delivering the Presentation
      a. Nervous is normal
      b. Your voice
      c. Your body
    5. After the Presentation (The Question and Answer Period)

教科書

No particular texts are required for this course. The presentation itself, however, will require the use of OHP's and videotaping and playback equipment.
