題目(Title) Human Centered Computer Vision
概要(Abstract) Facial image analysis has long been a central problem in computer vision, aiming to automatically extract rich information about individuals, such as identity, affect, behavior, and other soft biometric traits. Beyond its traditional role in biometrics, face perception has become a key enabler of human-centered computing, supporting natural and intuitive human–computer interaction in applications ranging from security and smart environments to social robotics and multimedia understanding.

In this talk, I will present an overview of research activities at the Smart Interaction and Machine Intelligence (SiMiT) Lab. While maintaining a strong focus on face perception—including face recognition under challenging conditions, facial expression analysis, and privacy-preserving techniques such as face anonymization and generation—the talk will also highlight our broader contributions to human-centered computer vision. These include multimodal and cross-domain biometrics, robust learning under real-world degradations and occlusions, and generative models for image synthesis and manipulation. Furthermore, I will discuss our recent work extending beyond faces and applications in health, assistive technologies, and intelligent environments. Across these directions, a common theme is the development of robust, adaptable, and trustworthy AI systems that operate effectively in unconstrained settings and interact seamlessly with humans. The talk will conclude with perspectives on emerging challenges, including fairness, privacy, multimodality, and the integration of generative AI into human-centered vision systems.
