題目(Title) | Adaptive cameras: history, devices and applications |
概要(Abstract) | A camera is considered "adaptive" if the properties of either its imaging sensor or its optics are temporally variable. Distributed into four different categories, adaptive cameras are targeted for a wide range of different applications, including, among many other, video surveillance, robotics and medical imaging. After detailing the history, the main devices and the applications of the most innovative adaptive cameras, I will present my work on HDROmni and Visadapt, two new cameras designed to capture the most visual information possible of heterogeneous environments. |

講演者紹介(Introduction of Lecturer) | After a Master Degree in robotics and articifial vision at UPJV, Amiens, Julien obtained his PhD in the MIS laboratory, Amiens. His research topic was the design of two new catadioptric cameras, HDROmni and Visadapt, to capture heterogenous environments. He has been supervised by Guillaume Caron and El Mustapha Mouaddib, experts in the omnidirectional vision field, and Christian Duriez, expert on soft robotics. During his Master Degree, he did an internship in LIMU (Kyushu University, Japan), where he discovered both Japanese culture and Virtual Reality (VR). Afterwards, he has worked in the last few months of his PhD in JRL (Tsukuba, Japan), where he took the opportunity to visit NAIST and formulate a joint research agenda. Currently, he is a post-doctoral contract in CARElab. He will combine his knowledge on Computer Vision and the laboratory VR expertise to create a new VR experiment with multi-resolution images, named "Virtual Binoculars". |
