title: Design of Robot Programming Tools in Human-Robot Interaction for End-users
abstract: In order to utilize the full efficiency of the service robot and meet users' needs in Human-Robot Interaction, the robot has to recognize human action to decide suitable robot reactions. However, it is difficult for end-users, especially non-experts who do not have experience with robot programming. The recent studies showed that the existing support tools are not enough to assist end-users in creating and testing a robot program. Hence, this study focuses on the design of robot programming tools to support end-users.

title: Relationship between Robot’s Organic-like Movements and Human Behavior
abstract: There are so many cases want to encourage people to take an action in the real world. For example, there are various working styles to increase working opportunities, whereas it is pointed out spending free-time to work. This has possibilities to cause lack of sleep, and had bad influences on health. Solving these problems requires encouraging behavior to spend working time and free-time in an appropriate proportion. Thus, this study focuses on the relationship between creatures and human, and proposes a system which has organic-like movements and encourages people to take an action. In this presentation, I also demonstrate results of a preliminary experiment about organic-like movements.

title: Analysis of News Media Bias Based on SNS comments
abstract: In the era of social media, we are often exposed to unintentionally biased information due to filter bubbles. Such biased information amplifies opinion fragmentation and political polarization. To cope with this problem, we analyze the bias of the news media and help people understand the news correctly. The existing survey on the bias is conducted by expert analysis and crowdsourced evaluation to the media. In this study, by using a topic model for Twitter comments on news, the distance between news media is calculated from hierarchical clustering's estimated probability of the topic. The fundamental idea is to measure the bias by analyzing the content of the topic and the news media's similarity. When we applied this method to tweets about the Science Council of Japan issue, we found that the results for mainstream media such as Asahi Shinbun were roughly consistent with other studies on political bias. We found that it is possible to capture bias in media that have not been surveyed before.

Are Metal Fans Angrier than Jazz Fans? A Genre-Wise Exploration of the Emotional Language of Music Listeners on Reddit
Music forms a big part of our identity and as such, people with a shared preference for certain kinds of music may also share similar traits. In this study, we explore differences in the emotional language of fan communities of different music genres. In focusing on Reddit, we analyze the utterances on online community forums of different music genres using lexicon-based sentiment (emotion) analysis. Upon clustering Subreddit forums, we obtained two clusters: forums discussing genres like Rock, RnB, Country, and Jazz were found to have a higher abundance of positively valenced emotions and a lower amount of negatively valenced emotions. Likewise, Subreddits discussing genres like Metal, Punk, and Rap had a lower amount of positively valenced emotions and a higher abundance of negatively valenced emotion. We observed a high correlation between counts in lyrics of a genre and counts in a fan community for the emotions of anger, disgust, fear, and joy. In sum, we found differences in the emotional language of fan utterances by genre, and these could be partially attributed to the emotions contained in the lyrics.

title: Rhetorical Analysis of Ethiopia’s Tigray War on Twitter
abstract: The war in Ethiopia’s Tigray region is an ongoing war between the Ethiopian federal government and its allies against the Tigrayan armed forces. Twitter has been used as a public sphere by both the pro-government people (i.e., those who support the war) and anti-government people (i.e., those who oppose the war) to discuss the war online. This research aims at analyzing how rhetorical persuasion is used by both the pro-government and anti-government people. We collected tweets from both the pro-government and anti-government people to perform sentiment analysis using the LIWC dictionary. Then, the result from the LIWC dictionary is used to categorize the rhetoric of Twitter in the war in Tigray. Our result shows that the pro-government people mostly use emotions to convince the audiences. Additionally, both pro-government and anti-government people try to convince the audience through credibility and authority. However, we did not find a significant difference in convincing audiences through logic and reasoning on either side.
