title: Elimination Cross-talk of Lenslet Array Near-eye Displays Using Eye-tracking
abstract: Lens array-based near-eye displays (LA-NEDs) are actively developed in recent years. The cross-talk, which occurs when the user's pupil moves out of the eye-box of LA-NEDs, is a crucial issue that negatively impacts user experience. Although eye-tracking is demonstrated to alleviate this problem significantly, the influence of pupil size in LA-NEDs has not been analyzed. In this paper, the theoretical eye-box of a general structure of LA-NEDs is formulated. Then, the actual eye-box is measured based on our monocular prototype with eye-tacking. The perceived image shows better quality after the eye-tracking-based rendering is introduced. In order to evaluate the actual effect of eye-tracking on system performance, three user studies are conducted. In terms of experiment results, the actual eye-box is the same as the theoretical value. Eye-tracking can eliminate cross-talk with a static gaze. Although latency and error of the eye-tacker prevent the elimination of cross-talk, the problem is softened when the dynamic gaze is given.

title: Augmented Reality Training Systems
abstract: Recent advancements in augmented reality (AR) have allowed for the development of effective training systems, especially in the medical, rehabilitation, and industrial fields. We gathered and reviewed the prototypes and applications that are geared toward training the intended user's knowledge, skills, and abilities. We acquired 64 research papers in high impact publications about augmented reality training systems (ARTS) that are taken from IEEE Xplore and other digital libraries. All the 64 papers are categorized according to the training method that was used, and each paper's evaluations were identified. Insights from this review aim to inform the dangers of poorly designed ARTS, and recommendations are provided on the implementation and evaluation of future ARTS.

title: General Software Framework for Augmented Reality-based Assembly and Maintenance Task Support Systems
abstract: Recently, Augmented Reality (AR) technology started to be widely used. It can provide the user with an intuitive way to interact directly with information in manufacturing processes. However, the cost and technical expertise needed to create AR applications is one of the reasons that has prevented widespread use in construction sector. For services that are widespread in society, such as web services, it is possible to separate the content and the platform. In the augmented reality (AR) field as well, several formats have been proposed and the separation of content and platform is progressing. However, these formats are not intended for use with AR task support system for assembly and maintenance (ARSAM). Therefore, in this research, we have examined the content description format for the purpose of separating the contents and platform of the ARSAM. Implement a general software framework to make AR systems for supporting various assembly and maintenance tasks. Through this research, the separation of ARSAM contents and platforms has become common, and it is expected that Augmented Reality-based Assembly and Maintenance Task Support Systems can be made and spread simply with low cost.
