題目(Title) Studies before and after medical natural language processing
概要(Abstract) Medical natural language processing (MedNLP) is an application of natural language processing (NLP) to medical or clinical text. This talk introduces several important work done "before" and "after" applying MedNLP, as well as giving brief basics about MedNLP itself. For the things "before" MedNLP, how we create annotated clinical text will be summarised by using our work as an example. For the work "after" MedNLP, I will show some examples of practical applications using MedNLP techniques we created. These pre/post-MedNLP studies enables MedNLP itself or enhance its social value so that medical/clinical staff and researchers can actually benefit.

題目(Title) Extended Embodiment and Reduction of Motion Sickness
概要(Abstract) In this presentation, I briefly introduce my researches from the perspective of extended embodiment and reduction of motion sickness. Our embodiment (feeling of one’s body) is not restricted to biological body (such as the skin), but extended outside of our own body, as in the well-known rubber hand illusion. We made a computer simulation model using a neural network to investigate extended embodiment and developed perception support devices and body motion assist devices to improve altered embodiment of stroke patients and forearm amputees. Currently, we are applying researches on extended embodiment to reduction of motion sickness and are developing a remote-control system for construction machinery that can extend embodiment of the operator. We are also developing AR/VR/MR devices that prevent passengers in the car from getting motion sickness.
