title: Kalman Filter on The Statistical Manifold
abstract: Kalman filter is a common tool for realizing online parameter estimation. In this presentation, we will show how can it be applied to a specific manifold - the statistical manifold. With the proposed method, the online parameter estimation problem between two mixture models is enabled where various kinds of divergences are applicable.

Title: A Bin-picking Robot System for Handling a Mixture of Daily Items
Abstract: In large warehouses of e-commerce corporations, a mixture of daily items are manually picked and placed. The automation of the manual work is the most significant problem in robotic bin-picking. In particular, technical problems lie in picking items with various shapes and in identifying the items. We propose a bin-picking robot system for handling a mixture of daily items. Three different types of gripper are used in the system: vacuum, suction, and two-finger. We also propose a strategy for gripper combination in bin-picking. A Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) based algorithm classifies the items and a 3D primitive shape model fitting algorithm finds a picking position for the gripper. In the experiment, we calculated successful picking rate and Mean Picks Per Hour (MPPH) from the result of the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017 and verified the effectiveness of the proposed system and the gripper combination strategy based on a comparison with another system. As future work, we are planning to further evaluate the performance of the proposed system by increasing the number of robot systems and metrics to be compared and to consider a more practical bin-picking robot system.

Title: Improving Color Discrimination for Color Vision Deficiency (CVD)
Abstract: First described by Dalton in 1794, color blindness has been around for more than 20 decades and researchers suggest several ideas to assist color vision deficiency (CVD). CVD cannot be treated, however we can compromise on the color vision quality. Previous work focus on color optimization to increase color discrimination. In this work, we explore and investigate alternative approaches to compensate CVD by filling in the missing color dimension with another modality which is not color properties, but flicker.

title: Photovoltaic System Reconfiguration For mismatch PV panel
abstract: Performance of Photovoltaic (PV) array is affected by variations in temperature, shadow and array configuration. When the panels in PV array are subjected to non-uniform irrdiance level, some bypass diode may turn on, and that will cause overall power production drop.To provent this kind of power drop. This research proposed an electrical reconfiguration algorithm. Proposed algorithm computes an optimized configuration with low computational burden.
