title: CycleGAN-based Image Synthesis for Musculoskeletal Segmentation of Hip and Its Application for Diagnosis of Necrotic Femoral Head
abstract: Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) progresses to collapse, utimately requiring total hip replacement. ANFH is classified into 4 types based on the size of the lesion and location in the weight-bearing area. In clinical situation, classification of ANFH is performed by experts, which variability is expected because of unnoticeable boundaries. Arguably, automated segmentation is one of the solutions to tackle this problem. Moreover, automated segmentation might help more meticulous management. Organs in medical images have a variety of contrast depending on the measurement techniques of modalities. MR clearly depict structure of soft tissues, making itself a preferred modality in diagnosis of ANFH because early stage of ANFH mostly occurs in soft tissues inside of the femur. Despite the fact that CT clearly depict boundaries of bone, it is not employed for diagnosis of ANFH because CT does not clearly depict soft tissues and is associated with exposure risk to X-ray radiation except for staging in established cases. However, clear boundaries of bones in CT might improve segmentation in any stage. In this researh, we aim at synthesizing CT from hip MRI to utilize for musculoskeletal segmentation. And also, we examine applicability of the proposed method for diagnosis of ANFH.

abstract: Information posted by individuals is increasing explosively. Therefore, thought process in Web search are more important than ever. However, in most cases it does not look back, and share with others. In this research, We developed an extended application of browser. Using it, I examine how to convert web page content and behavior information into a thought process, and verify the usefulness of the application.
