title: Parsing Mathematical Expressions in PDF into XML based on Constituency Parsing
abstract: Mathematical expressions are important components of scientific papers which convey much of their technical details. However, the PDF format, in which scientific papers are commonly published, is an unstructured format which only contains a set of coordinates of characters. In order to develop systems such as semantic-aware search engines for scientific papers, it is a necessary step to identify the structure of mathematical expressions with high accuracy and convert them into a structured format. In this presentation, I will present my current work on the task of predicting the MathML form of a given mathematical expression in the PDF format.

title:Programmable Analog Calculation Unit for Approximate Computing
abstract:Along with the development of Internet of Things(IoT), lighter and more efficient computations are demanded. One of solutions to implement efficient computations, the approximate computing hardware has been widely employed. With the acceptable loss of accuracy, the circuit complexity and power consumption can be greatly reduced. As typical approximate computing effort, the analog computing circuits are benefited by ultra-high speed and low power. However, most of analog computing circuits suffer from the poor programmability. In this work, the feasibility of programmable analog calculation unit (called "ACU") is investigated.By implementing support vector regression (SVR) in silicon. the analog circuits are expected to retrieve arbitrary functions in real-time with very compact circuit scale.

title: Implementation and Evaluation of Multithreaded Systolic Ring
abstract: In recent years, breakthroughs have been occurred in various fields by deep learning. Currently, learning and inference of deep learning are accelerated by GPU. However, at social implementation, it is required to do inference by embedded devices. On embedded devices, it is required to operate without fan. Due to its strict power constraints, it is difficult to achieve fanless operation with GPU. For this reason, researches and developments of DSA (Domain-Specific Accelerator) for inference have become popular. On the other hand, it is difficult to correspond evolution and change of algorithms, and tends to easily become obsolete. Therefore, we need a more programmable accelerator than DSA. In the past, we have developed a CGRA Accelerator EMAXV (Energy-aware Multimode Accelerator eXtension). However, it has a problem that it has low scalability due to the complexity of wiring of CGRA. In this presentation, we propose EMAXVI which is a systolic array based accelerator with low the wiring complexity. Currently, we are implementing prototype using FPGA and evaluating its performance.

title: Distributed machine learning model using Edge computing and Aggregation
abstract: Modern deep learning has significantly improved the performance and has been used in a variety of applications. Due to the heavy processing cost, major platforms for deep learning have been migrated from commodity computers to the cloud where have huge amount of resources. However, the above situation leads to the slowdown of response time due to severe congestion of the network traffic. To alleviate the overconcentration of data traffic and power consumption, many researchers have paid attention to edge computing. I tackle with the parallel processing model using Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) employed on multiple devices, and the size reduction of network traffic among the devices. I propose a technique that compresses the intermediate data and aggregates common computation in DCNN for multiple tasks.

title:Reduction of IEEE802.11ah power consumption abstract: Recent year,New wifi standard established "IEEE802.11ah" for IoT device. But IEEE802.11ah comsume large power to use IoT system. To reduce IEEE802.ah power consumption,I fourcused on Mac layer TWT(Target Wake time) the function of Mac layer.TWT can reduce the power consumption of the device by turning off(sleep) the device when It does not communication. But if sleep time is too short,It is possible that device consumption more power.I am going to simulate TWT with NS-3,search for a threshold value that makes TWT effective for power saving. language of the presentation: Japanese

title: Studying Partial Reviews in Modern Code Review
abstract: Morden Code Review (MCR), a lightweight variant of the code inspections to identify defects and quality problems investigated since the 1970s, prevails today both in industry and open-source software (OSS) systems. However, when a defect or quality problem appears, not only one developer tries to fix it, thus leads to the phenomenon of partial reviews. Partial Reviews might be a kind of waste in code review. In this research, we conduct a case study in OpenStack project. We aims to identify partial reviews in data set. Based on these reviews, to better understand the phenomenon of partial reviews, we conduct some analysis to find the impact of partial reviews in code review process and find reasons why reviews are partial.

title: Study on Reliability of Actuator under Intentional Electromagnetic Interferenc
abstract: In recent years, to attain improvement ofproduction efficiency, it tends to promote factory automation using robots.Under these circumstances, there is a possibility of attacks against robots aswith IoT devices. In particular, attacks against actuators can cause physicaldamage,we need to consider its possibilities and countermeasures. In thisresearch, as a fundamental study, we will focus on the degradation ofreliability due to intentional electromagnetic interference against actuators. Then, we will discuss the mechanism of degradation in reliability and develop amethod for suppressing degradation of it.

title: Study on Sound Information Leakage from ICT Devices via Electromagnetic Field
abstract: One oif the main reasons for information leakage is unintentional or intentional radiation of electromagnetic (EM) fields from communication devices. At present, ICT devices prone to EM information leakage threats include many commercial products handling private and valuable data, such as monitors, printers, and keyboards. In this study, we focus on sound-information leakage from electronic devices and demonstrate this leakage from an actual device. Moreover, we will develop rapid estimation method of leakage channel and will clarify the leakage mechanism using this estimation method.

title: Study on hardware Trojan detection method based on impedance measurements around IC
abstract: threat has been reported that adds a Hardware Trojan(HT) composed of inexpensive elements to the device, causing information leakage. Since it is easy to add such HT after shipment, a detection method different from HT which is conventionally discussed in the IC is required. Therefore, it is thought that a mechanism to inspect the modification on the board on which the IC is mounted after shipment of the equipment is necessary. In this study, as a fundamental study to detect such HT, attention is paid to the case where HT is mounted on the wiring connected to the IC, and by measuring the change in impedance of the wiring, it is mounted after shipment of the device Whether HT can be detected or not is examined.

title: Intentional EM Information Leakage by Malicious Circuit and Its Countermeasure
abstract: Electromagnetic (EM) emissions from electronic devices sometimes leak critical information. In this kind of security issue, many studies focused on extraction information from unintentional EM emissions caused by depending on physical structures of equipment. Therefore, not all devices are targets of this threat. However, when attackers intentionally modify equipment and cause intentional EM leakage, all the devices may be targets of the above-described threats. In this study, we will show information leaks from intentionally modified devices, and will investigate countermeasures against this threat.

title: Personal authentication using electromagnetic propagation property unique to living body
abstract: In recent years, personal authentication using biometric information such as fingerprints and irises have been spreading in various systems. Biometric authentication has many advantages like that it is not necessary to create a new identifier for authentication. However biometric authentication to date is vulnerable to threats such as confidential information leakage around the system because biometric information is physical and immutable. In this study, the author proposes a personal authentication which uses the difference of electromagnetic propagation property determined with the authentication system and the user body. Because electromagnetic propagation property is invisible, the risk of confidential information leakage is considered to be lower than the existing authentication.
