Control of Complex Networks
Network structures are ubiquitous in various fields. Examples include online social networks, traffic networks, transaction networks, and electrical grids. Although we can find in the literature several advances toward understanding the nature of those networks, there is still a lack of methodologies for controlling the networks in a desired manner. In this talk, I will present recent developments in the area of systems and control theory for controlling complex networks, with applications to containment of epidemic outbreaks and optimization of viral marketing.

Selection and Integration Architecture of Locomotion Control for Multi-Locomotion Robotic Systems
In this presentation, we introduce the optimal locomotion selection algorithm and the integration theory of multiple locomotion controllers to give versatility and adaptability to Multi-Locomotion Robot system (MLR system). The MLR system has multiple types of locomotion, and improves the overall mobility by selecting the optimal locomotion for the situation from among them. This concept is indispensable for adaptation to complex and unknown environments. To complete the MLR system, it is important to select (1) locomotion suitable for the surrounding environment and (2) how to handle multiple types of locomotion by the unified manner. In this talk, we introduce Selection Algorithm for Locomotion (SAL) for the issue (1) and Passive Dynamic Autonomous Control (PDAC) for the issue (2).
