題目(Title): Crafting an effective research project proposal: principles and strategies (Part 2)
概要(Abstract): The seminars will focus on principles and strategies for preparing an effective research project proposal in English. The position of the seminars is that creative ideas need to be demonstrated in conventional ways. Particular attention will be paid to outline key aspects of a project proposal from communicative and genre perspectives. Features of both written and spoken project proposals will be considered, and their similarities and differences highlighted.

The seminars will also cover strategies for increased understanding and use of English language in research proposal writing - academic, persuasive, logical, cohesive and discipline-specific - which are essential for grant applications and future, international careers.

Seminar Part 1 includes:
analytical frameworks for underpinning a research project proposal - stages, purpose, audience
introduction to practical strategies for crafting a research project proposal - academic, persuasive, logical, cohesive writing

Seminar Part 2 includes:
elaboration of practical strategies for crafting a research project proposal - academic, persuasive, logical, cohesive writing and discipline-specific language (concordancing)
similarities and differences between written and spoken language
