title: The effects of age and sex difference of the glucose metabolism in the hippocampus
abstract: For early detection and treatment of the temporal lobe epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease, the amount of brain glucose consumption is widely used as the indicator of working level of the brain. The amount can be measured per whole brain with positron emission tomography (PET). On the other hand, it is known that hippocampus is the organ of memory located in the part of brain. Thus, the indicator of memory diseases can be improved by measuring the amount of glucose consumption per hippocampus. We measured this new indicator by applying image processing to the PET image of whole brain and the image of hippocampus as masking data retrieved from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) language of the presentation: Japanese

title: Image registration for cardiac MRI toward ischemic patients who is breathing abstract: Cardiac Perfusion MRI is one of the useful tools to examine ischemic heart disease. For the accurate examination patients must get hold breath until it is over. However, it is nearly impossible for patients to stay one minute examination without breathing, moreover it might be the heavy damage for patients suspected to have heart disease. When breathing, cardiac part of MRI images are distorted and deviated. Thereby the performance of examination is deteriorated. In this study, to deal with this problem, I transform the images to similar images by holding breath with image registration methods. language of the presentation: Japanese

title:Modeling Motion Parts of Protein Based on Normal Mode Analysis
abstract:The molecular animation is an approach to visualize molecular reaction in the cell with comprehensive understanding of the whole molecular system for both beginners and expert resarchers. So far molecular models are made by atomic coordinate of proteins, it is difficult to add motions to model by an imaginative hypotheses derived from experimental results. Based on the normal mode analysis of protein movements, we propose a method to make coarse grained models with motion parts. The region of the model that move together in the major normal mode motions are segmented. Our method applied in making a molecular movie is discussed toward a closer look at the actual in vivo molecular activities. language of the presentation:Japanese

title: Identifying Responsible Brain Regions Related to Statistical Word Segmentation in Macaque Monkey
abstract: Human beings can learn word segmentation from continuous tone sequences based on transitional probability, and its responsible brain regions were reported. Although it has been shown that decoding the information of word segments from the electrocorticogram (ECoG) of the Macaque monkeys is possible by using machine learning technique, the responsible brain region of Macaque monkeys has not been identified. To identify the region, we recorded ECoG from three Macaque monkeys during listening to the sequences of artificial language. We analyzed ECoG data using time-frequency decomposition and machine learning technique to decode the information of word segments. In this talk, we will show the brain map of decoding performance and the informative time-frequency points. language of the presentation: Japanese
