title: Security Risk Quantification of Infrastructure as a Service Cloud Computing

abstract: cloud computing has revolutionized information technology. It is perceived as the fifth utility after gas, electricity, water and telephone; with its pay-as-you-go model. Cloud computing allows enterprises and users to cut on the prices of computer resources by externalizing their needs to a cloud service provider. However, despite all the benefits it encompasses, cloud computing raises several security concerns that have not been yet fully addressed to a satisfying extent. Indeed, by outsourcing their data to the cloud, the users lose the control of their data in benefit of the cloud administrator, thus they want to ascertain that the later is not abusing their data. Furthermore, the most inherent security issue of cloud computing is multi-tenancy. Cloud computing is a shared platform where users' data are hosted in the same physical infrastructure. A malicious user can exploit this fact to steal the data of the users whom she is sharing the platform with. To address the aforementioned security issues, we propose a security risk quantification method that will allow users and cloud computing administrators to measure the security level of a given cloud ecosystem. Our risk quantification method is an adaptation of the fault tree analysis, which is a modeling tool that has proven to be highly effective in mission-critical systems. We replaced the faults by the probable vulnerabilities in a cloud system, and with the help of the common vulnerability scoring system; we were able to generate the risk formula. In addition to addressing the previously mentioned issues, we were also able to quantify the security risks of some cloud management stacks, and propose an architecture where users can evaluate and rank different cloud service providers.

title: Empirical analysis of IPv6 transition technologies using the IPv6 Network Evaluation Testbed (IPv6NET)
IPv6 has yet to become more than a worthy successor of IPv4, which remains, for now, the dominant Internet Protocol. This is due to the complicated transition period through which the Internet will have to go, until IPv6 will completely replace IPv4. This transition has presented the Internet community with numerous challenges, one of which is to decide which transition technology is more feasible for a particular network scenario. To that end we are proposing the IPv6 Network Evaluation Testbed (IPv6NET), a research project whose ultimate goal is to obtain feasibility data in order to formulate a coherent, scenario-based IPv6 transition strategy. We are presenting the overview of IPv6NET, the testing methodology and empirical results for a specific network scenario. The empirical feasibility data includes network performance data such as latency, throughput, packet loss, CPU load, and operational capability data, such as configuration, troubleshooting and applications capability.

title:Evaluation of metabolic systems based on dynamical stability ushing a model of 1-butanol producing Escherichia coli
abstract: Recently, it is reported that a genetically engineered E.coli produces 1-butanol; a compound that can use as a biofuel. Analysis of detail metabolic dynamics in this 1-butanol producing E.coli will contribute improvement of biofuel production. However, it is still difficult to optimize entire metabolic pathways because it involves various metabolic reactions that depend on each other. Experimental metabolomics data of 1-butanol producing E.coli is based on this simulation and this study therefore aims to develop a computational model of metabolic systems for 1-butanol production in E.coli for understanding the behavior of metabolic pathway around the steady state.

title: A codon index to measure the effect of tRNA recycling
abstract: Codon indexes are used to measure the effect of codon usage bias. Although there are many indexes which utilize the frequency of codons, the information on the order of codons is not generally exploited. We propose a new codon index that utilize this information to measure how tRNA recycling affect the fitnesses of sequences. We used this index, along with existing index called tRNA Pairing Index (TPI), to investigate tRNA recycling effect in three species.

title: Interaction Design of Handheld Augmented Reality for Work Support
abstract: Augmented Reality means the augmentation of real world with virtual content. Handheld Augmented Reality (HAR) means AR on handheld devices, such as smartphones and tablet PCs. These kind of devices has a high potential to introduce AR to mass market due to their widespeard use. A vast amount of HAR applications already exist, but the current applications are not considered useful in pragmatic use situations. HAR still has several technical issues, but understanding the issues related to the usefulness HAR is also fundamentally important. In this research, we focus on the usability and utility aspects of a HAR work support system. More specifically, we focus on the usability and utility of in situ AR content creation and consumption in different kinds of work support scenarios. The contribution of our work is a set of design guidelines for HAR work support based on the experimental evaluation of the different areas of our work support system. The final set of guidelines can be used in the design of future HAR work support systems.

title: Dense Reconstruction for monocular camera
abstract: A system simultaneously tracks camera and reconstruct 3d scene in real time. Compared with those feature-based models for structure from motion problem, dense models can achieve more complete, accurate and robust result. A photometric data term is used to exploit 3d information from input video stream, and followed with a optimization framework of a regularized energy function of it.

title: Accuracy evaluation of the tracking method in AR/MR field
abstract: In the research fields of Augmented Reality(AR) and Mixed Reality(MR), tracking and registration methods are one of the most important topics. We investigate the accuracy evaluation of various tracking methods for the further development of this field. If feature of each methods is more clarify, we can choose a method appropriate to the environment.

title: Towards Augmented Reality User Interfaces in 3D Media Production
abstract: The idea of using Augmented Reality (AR) user interfaces to create 3D media content (3D models) has been repeatedly suggested. Even though the concept is compelling, no immersive 3D user interface has been created that addresses the needs of professional artits. We performed a requirements analysis based on a survey that we conducted with media professionals. From these findings, we developed a novel AR User Interface aimed at professional application. We tested out prototype with media professionals and wrote a paper about our results.
