ȯɽÂêÌÜ¡§Dipole-Array Assisted Doppler Spread Compensator with Diversity for Mobile Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Receiver
ȯɽ³µÍס§This presentation proposes a new dipole-array based Doppler spread compensator with the maximal ratio combining (MRC) space diversity for mobile reception of digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTTB). The European and the Japanese, DTTB systems employ orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which is capable of high speed digital transmission in a time-dispersive multipath channel. However, Since OFDM has narrow frequency spacing amongst sub-carrier, the performance of OFDM based DTTB systems degrade due to Doppler spreading, where a several incoming waves affects the different Doppler shift. Furthermore multipath fading severely degrades the performance. In order to solve these two problems, we propose a dipole-array assisted Doppler spread compensator with MRC diversity. The proposed dipole-array antenna is not only capable of compensating for performance degradation due to large Doppler spread, but also improving the bit error rate (BER) performance in multipath fading channel by making use of MRC space diversity jointly performed with dipole-array. The proposed dipole-array can easily be put on the side window of the vehicle. | ||||
